Head of Marketing and Communications Permanent

SUMMARY

This position’s key role is to plan, manage and execute COMPANY’s Corporate and Marketing Communications programmes to support the company’s strategic direction and business objectives. As the communications and marketing resource for the company, the role is responsible for providing strategic counselling on all aspects of communications and marketing as required. Critical success factors include a good understanding of the business and its challenges, as well as the ability to collaborate with senior management and line managers to drive key business initiatives. A strong focus on customers is necessary to cultivate goodwill and enhance relations with stakeholders. The role also includes the management of the communications and marketing budget and the development of team member(s).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the leadership, direction, and oversight to the external and internal marketing, communications and public relations strategy.
  • Work closely with the Senior Management to develop communications strategies to enhance and promote COMPANY’s identity and culture, and raise awareness of COMPANY’s services and the National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS).
  • Articulate clear and compelling narratives about our corporate branding, organisation, vision and mission, value proposition and develop consistent key messages and programmes that frame and amplify the COMPANY story.
  • Oversee the editorial direction, design, and production of high-quality, effective print, electronic, web, and digital materials that support the communications strategy and crisis communications.
  • Direct and lead media outreach and public relations, including managing information outflow by networking with the targeted media to generate and manage coverage.
  • Coordinate media interest and develop strong targeted media relations. Function as the first level of response to media escalations and craft appropriate responses to media requests.
  • Develop both short and long-term plans and budget for the marketing, communications and public relations programmes and activities. Put in place mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the progress and success of the programmes.
  • Oversee and promote outreach programmes, including organising thought leadership and networking events/programmes, as well as hosting visiting delegations.
  • Cultivate good customer relations with industry partners and other key stakeholders and monitor customer satisfaction using surveys and manage the customer database.
  • Plan and create strategic internal communications on behalf of Senior Management, including messaging for all-employee meetings such as townhalls, organization announcements, videos, presentations, and social media.
  • Manage both internal and external crisis communications in real and simulated events. Participate and support annual crisis management exercises as part of the COMPANY Crisis Management Team.
  • Responsible for developing and driving corporate social responsibility activities within COMPANY


Desired Skills and Requirements:

  • Degree in marketing, communications, public relations preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years’ experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated track record.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing press releases, presentations and negotiating with media.
  • Experience in the energy or financial regulatory services industry will be an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, resourceful, highly organised and influential leader and a team player.
  • Excellent verbal & written skills and outstanding interpersonal skills are crucial to this role.
